Speech sounds workshop
Overview
This is a workshop for any staff working with children with speech sound difficulties in both Early Years and School Age.
By attending this workshop, you will:
- Gain an understanding of speech sound development
- Learn strategies and games at a universal and targeted level to support speech sound development
- Feel confident to know how and when to refer for speech and language support
Reasons to attend:
- You would like to learn more about speech sound development.
- You have concerns about a child’s speech sound development. It may be that the child is able to speak in short sentences, but other people do not understand them. It may be that the child is swapping some sounds or not using certain sounds at all.
You may wish to complete a speech sound screener prior to attending. You can access this here: www.childspeechbedfordshire.nhs.uk/information-and-advice/speech-sounds-screen
This course will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams. When you book, you will receive a confirmation email, and closer to the workshop date, you will receive information about how to access the workshop and the materials you will require for the workshop.
In the unlikely event that a workshop is cancelled, we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible and you will be offered a place on an alternative date.
If you need to swap a participant, please notify us of their name and email address as soon as possible so they can be sent all relevant emails. You can do this by emailing: ccs.beds.childrens.slt.training@nhs.net
