About this event

Reading is becoming more and more important in the new knowledge economy and remains the most effective human activity for transforming information into knowledge. With the volumes of information we have to digest every day, from newspapers, to long-winded emails, reports and increasing volumes of online articles and materials, reading in this digital world, is one of the most used skills we possess. Also, reading from a screen considerably reduces speed and retention, so if you need to do a lot of reading and you want to maintain focus and improve your comprehension, this session is for you.

Speed reading helps you to both read and understand a text more quickly. This interactive online session will teach you the key techniques and methods of speed reading to help you master this skill in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Session outcomes for participants:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Identify their current level of speed reading

• List and test speed reading techniques to use when reading on digital screens and in print

• Read and understand a text twice as fast as their current level per minute

• Get tips and resources to further develop and improve speed reading
