Description

We are delighted to welcome Caroline Lucas, the Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion, to SPERI for an 'In Conversation' event.

The conversation will explore Caroline’s career and current work, the climate emergency, and contemporary UK and international politics.

The event will take place at 17.30 on Thursday 26 March 2020 in the Students’ Union Auditorium at the University of Sheffield.

As the Green Party’s first MP, Caroline Lucas has represented Brighton Pavilion since 2010. She has served as leader of the Green Party twice. Caroline is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change, Co-Chair of the group on Fuel Poverty, and Vice Chair of Parliamentary Groups on Animal Welfare, Public and Commercial Services and Sustainable Housing. She is also a member of Parliament’s Environmental Audit Committee and co-chair of IPPR’s Environmental Justice Commission.

She is a campaigner and writer on green politics, localisation, globalisation, trade justice, animal welfare and food. The conversation with SPERI's Michael Jacobs will explore Caroline’s career and current work.

Audience members will also have the opportunity to put questions to Caroline.
