Description

Overview

This is a free introductory workshop open to PhD students in psychology and language sciences from the Faculty of Brain Sciences.

No prior business experience is required, nor do you need to think of yourself as an aspiring entrepreneur or come equipped with a business idea. This workshop will provide an introduction to the entrepreneurial journey for those who are interested in exploring the entrepreneurial route either during or after their PhD. For those who presently don’t identify themselves as having entrepreneurial ambitions, this workshop can help to reframe the skills that you are developing during your PhD.

What to expect

This one-day workshop focuses on the fundamentals of developing an entrepreneurial mind-set and exploring value creation. You will explore the skills needed to be entrepreneurial in research as well as in an enterprise. The workshop will include taught elements, personal and interactive exercises.

This workshop will help you to:

  • Develop your own entrepreneurial thinking
  • Start to recognise and use your entrepreneurial skills
  • Generate and develop enterprising ideas using tools such as the business model canvas.

At the end of the workshop, you will be better able to:

  • Develop ideas that create value and make a difference to others
  • Identify the relationships needed with relevant stakeholders to move an idea forward more smoothly
  • Set goals to progress your enterprising activity.
