SpiDir Resource Day: Less is More - Reading Between the Lines
Overview
Join us as Rev Toddy Hoare explores the role of art in devotional life and within spiritual accompaniment, with inspiration and practice drawn from sculpture, poetry and the Psalms.
The day will be structured around three sessions and lunch will be provided.
Rev Toddy Hoare is a trained sculptor and has used media throughout his ministry. Having served as a soldier, Toddy spent time with the Missions to Seamen in Europoort, Netherlands, followed by training at Wycliffe Hall and Curacy in Guisborough. After 25 years as Vicar of the six Hillside Parishes (on the western edge of NY Moors, north from Sutton Bank and A19) and time spent in Oxford, Toddy has retired, together with his wife, Rev. Dr. Liz Hoare, to North Yorkshire, where he continues to sculpt, with some of his work having toured nationally, and to write, including poetry. His books include: Cameos of Faith; Psalmody; Christ Cycle in Verse & 3D; Uncle Peter’s Story; Wandering Life Together – available from Wipf and Stock Publishers.
