Since ancient times of talking trees and mischievous fairies, we have always told tales about weaving - in lands far away, and close to home. Join us as we card and spin wool into yarn, and hear songs and stories from Somaliland, Hong Kong, England, Scotland and India, translated into 3 languages (Cantonese, Arabic & English) and underscored with a live soundscape.
Created in collaboration with Manor Weavers, SuNrit Culture, Higsad Alool Weavers & Re:Water.
This workshop is part of The Common Threads Festival, an international weaving project bringing cultures, ideas and people together and taking place from the 24th -27th September on the Moor in Sheffield.
Common Threads has grown from a collaboration between The Bare Project, Higsad Alool Weavers and textile groups across Sheffield.
There will be a photographer present at this event, and the images may be used by The Bare Project for marketing and evaluation purposes. If you do not wish for your photograph to be taken for any reason then please speak with one of the team at the start of the event.
