A great introduction to working and whittling wood, this session will show you how to turn a piece of tree into a spoon with just a pointed knife- no hook knife needed. We'll cover which woods work well and which you should steer clear of, then get you started on a chunk of your own. By the end of the workshop you'll have the makings of a very special spoon, and the knowledge to finish it off and create more. Participants will need to bring a knife with a pointed end.
Wood species for carving cannot be guaranteed as all of our wood is donated by tree surgeons, but if nothing suitable is available we will coppice some willow or hazel on site.
Suitable for anyone over 16.
Workshop is free with a suggested donation of £5.
