#SporT1Day 2019
Event Information
Description
Type 1 Diabetes & Sports
Many of us with Type 1 Diabetes would like to be more active, but that brings on additional challenges in managing our blood glucose levels during and after physical activity, sports and exercise. Soemtimes that just seems too hard.
Some of us are already doing our preferred form of sport and we have already figured out that the optimum performance and blood glucose levels are linked to each other. Perhaps you have random blood glucose results and you need some help to find strategies that work well for you.
Perhaps you are new to diabetes and exercise, perhaps you have been struggling on your own for years.
The good news is that you no longer need to struggle on your own.
Join us if you need a little inspiration.
Join us to network with other like-minded people who have diabetes and understand the challenges that you are facing.
Perhaps you are a Health Care Professional & you want to update your knowledge on sports and diabetes?
Join us at SporT1Day - the only conference about type 1 and exercise by athletes with type 1 diabetes
Join us at SporT1Day; the only diabetes and sports conference that is led by athletes who have type 1 diabetes many of them are or have been professional athletes and some have even represented their country in their chosen sport. The conference will also offer structured education from Dr Parth Narendran, one of the countries leading expert diabetologists on sport and exercise.

So what?
Everybody benefits from exercise, but for people with diabetes, the benefits may be more significant. Exercise helps us to reduce the risk of developing complications, it helps us to maintain sensitivity to insulin and it helps with the mental health aspects of living with diabetes. You don't have to be a professional athlete or capped for your country to gain these benefits. Exercising with type 1 diabetes adds additional challenges in managing your blood glucose levels so come along and learn from these experts because success leaves clues.
Perhaps you don't want to increase the amount of sport you do and that is OK, we promise that there is no pressure to do more, the stories, the tools and techniques that our speakers have used will be inspirational
