About this event
Bikeability provides a progressive framework whereby young cyclists acquire the skills and techniques essential for the road. Those who take part in Bikeability gain an invaluable insight into the road traffic environment.
The course is designed to give children Bikeability level 2 training during school holidays.
Who is it for?
Our Bikeablity course is suitable for children aged 10 years+ who can confidently ride a bike.
Course description
Bikeability Level 2 will develop riders’ skills and confidence for cycling on roads, using junctions with moderate traffic flow. Preparing riders to deal with short journeys such as cycling to school or the local shops.
The course will take place over 2 days (Monday 30 May and Tuesday 31 May) with training taking place between 10:00am-12:00pm and 12:30pm - 2:00pm with a 30minute lunch break.
All training is delivered by professional national cycle instructors who have attended first aid and safeguarding training and have undertaken a DBS check. The course is delivered in groups with a ratio of 1 instructor to a maximum of 6 children.
Equipment
Children need to bring a road worthy bike and helmet to use during the course.

Children should wear suitable outdoor clothing during the course and bring a packed lunch and drink each day.
