Following her BSc, Laura stayed at Leeds Beckett University to complete a successful internship in 2009 in the Carnegie Centre for Sport Performance and Wellbeing, where she obtained an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science with distinction. After graduating, Laura began working full time as a Performance Psychologist at the sports cotland institute of sport (SIS) in 2010. At the SIS, she works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help support athletes to perform on the World’s Stage, including Major Games, such as, London Olympics 2012, London Paralympics 2012 and Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.
Laura also worked at both the Scottish Open Golf Championships in Aberdeen and 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. Throughout her working life, Laura has placed a great deal of importance on furthering her studies and achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University with distinction in 2011. In 2013 she achieved another MSc in Psychology of Sport at Leeds Beckett University with distinction. In 2014, Laura began a new academic challenge - a PhD at Brunel University exploring gaze behaviours in elite golfers.
Laura said of her time at Leeds: “I really enjoyed my time studying at Leeds Beckett University. My study has provided many learning opportunities, both academically and in applied practice which have helped me to develop evidence-based practice. The staff work hard to create a stimulating environment and support students to develop the key skills needed to enable them to pursue a career as an applied practitioner or a researcher. I have found these skills to have been very useful, both in my work as a full time Performance Psychologist and throughout my PhD studies.”

James studied for a BA (Hons) in Physical Education at our University, before going on to gain an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science at the same institution. On completing his studies, James worked for OPTA for two years, overseeing analysis for both Rugby League and Rugby Union. During his time with the Rhinos, the team have won 3 Grand Finals, 2 Challenge Cups, 1 World Club Challenge and 1 League Leaders Shield, culminating in winning the treble in 2015.
