This first aid training course will give you the necessary skills to deal with a wide range of sporting incidents.
Who should attend
Anyone involved in a sporting role, coaches, volunteers, participants etc aged 16 years and over.
Course cost
Free places are available for PACES clubs. Active Schools volunteers can choose a free PACES ticket to sign up at no cost.

1 day (6 hours)

Role of the first aider
Incident assessment / sending for help
Communication and casualty care
First aid kit / first aid room
Resuscitation (CPR) and AED use
Management of unconscious casualty
Recovery position
Choking / asthma
Chest pains / heart attack
Diabetes / stroke
Head / facial injuries
Spinal injuries
Limb injuries
Minor and severe bleeding
Shock management
Burns / wound management
Heat and cold extremes
Assessment
Continuous observation by the trainer.
Certification
Successful candidates receive a certificate, valid for three years.
PACES
All clubs that are accredited through the Perth and Kinross Accredited Club Excellence Scheme (PACES) will receive free spaces on all of Live Active Sport's courses, based on the tiers below:
• Gold: 3 free places per course
• Silver: 2 free places per course
• Bronze: 1 free place per course

Individual Coaching Grants
Our individual coaching grants, funded by The Gannochy Trust, provide financial assistance to help with the payment of national governing body coaching courses. If you live in Perth and Kinross, or coach with a Perth and Kinross club, then you could be eligible to get assistance of up to 75% of the overall course fee (terms and conditions apply).
