This event is organised by Sporting Heritage in partnership with the British Society of Sports History with huge thanks to the players of the National Lottery and Heritage Fund!
Often it's difficult to build partnerships with each other which further the understanding and research of the sporting past.
That might be because it's difficult to find the right research question, people to help, or funding, or researchers. Or it might be because you aren't sure how to access relevant collections or intangible heritage.
This event aims to bring together delegates working in both sports history and sporting heritage to share ideas, work out what support is needed to better develop functioning partnerships going forward, and to help establish connections and networks which make this easier in the future.
There will be panel discussions from those already working in research / practice partnerships, and opportunities to discuss and share information in smaller groups throughout the day.
We're excited that there will also be a chance to view the archive and explore the sporting collections held at Heritage Quay.
We will arrange an informal networking evening on the 4th February for anyone travelling to the venue the night before - details to follow!
