Description

After the success of last year’s Football Law event, St John’s Buildings, in conjunction with the Centre for Sports Law Research at Edge Hill University, is proud to present a Sports Law & Business Conference that will once again bring together leading sports law and business experts from across Europe.

This full day conference, to be held at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, will allow those with an interest in sports law, governance and business the opportunity to hear what the leading experts think about the important issues of the day, before debating the same at a drinks reception and networking session.

Last year’s event attracted over 120 delegates from across Europe. In attendance were representatives from:

  • Despina Mavromati - Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport & Former Managing Counsel at the CAS
  • Paul Stewart - Former Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and England professional footballer. Author of ‘Damaged’.
  • Marcos Motta - Partner Bichara & Motta sports agency. Adviser to Neymar on his record-breaking transfer from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain.
  • Sam Hillas - Barrister and Judicial Officer for the RFU, Six Nations and World Rugby
  • Clare Briegal - Chief Executive Officer, International Netball Federation
  • Ramunas Linartas - Policy Officer in the Sport Unit of the European Commission

CANCELLATION

Cancellations must be made in writing to Chris Shaw, 24a-28 St John’s St, Manchester. M3 4DJ, and made no later than 1 March 2018. Such cancellations are subject to a handling and administration charge of £75.00 + VAT per delegate, which will be deducted from any due refund. No cancellations are acceptable after this date but a substitute delegate can be nominated. St John’s Buildings reserves the right to make changes to the programme, location and/or speakers without prior notice. We will not offer refunds to delegates due to a terrorist alert or incident unless the conference is cancelled. If due to these events we are unable to run the conference, we will retain up to 50% of the conference fee to cover marketing, administration and delegate registration costs.
