Event description

Description

Research in Business and Law’s Business in Sport cluster will hold the 3rd Manchester Metropolitan University Sports Volunteering Conference.

This year’s theme is Sports Volunteering: The Importance of Strategy. The conference will be held in the Geoffrey Manton Building at Manchester Metropolitan University on Wednesday 7 June 2017.

The conference will encompass aspects of volunteering in sport and the importance/impact of strategy (local and national) within the current landscape. The conference will bring together sector experts who will share key data and insight as well as a range of practical advice on how to navigate the new national policy and funding landscape. The conference will provide a platform to bring practitioners and academic perspectives from across the volunteering landscape to share, collaborate and network.

The event will offer something for academics, policy makers and practitioners as well as providing one of the few opportunities to talk with others who see volunteering as an essential part of the ongoing future of sport and active leisure.

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in the sports voluntary sector should attend. We welcome academics, practitioners, volunteer coordinators, policy makers, and FE/HE students.
