In this session, Nicholas Crafts will speak on industrial strategy for the long-term: exploring the UK's historical experience with industrial policy and how the recent Green Paper compares.
Nicholas Crafts CBE is Professor of Economics and Economic History at the University of Warwick, and Director of the ESRC Research Centre, CAGE: Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy. His areas of research include the Industrial Revolution, British relative economic decline, the history of general purpose technologies, and why growth rates differ.
