About the session:

Now more than ever MT performers are being asked to submit initial auditions via self-tape. For the actor/singer it can be daunting to not only streamline the technical elements of music and voice but know how their tapes are being perceived from the casting perspective.

At Round One, we aim to bridge the gap between casting and auditioning by helping the performer master necessary technology and adjust your live industry-standard auditions to a virtual setting.

Led by international singing and voice coaches Scott Harrison and Nina Zendejas, this seminar aims to introduce:

1. The foundations of Round One workshops: a clear system and checklist to ensure quality of delivery.

2. Some basic strategies you can use RIGHT NOW to improve your self-tapes.

3. Understand the differences between tradition acting self-tapes and what is required from you on video as a singer."

About the Facilitators:

About Scott Harrison:

Scott Harrison is a highly experienced singing teacher, vocal coach, workshop leader and educator based in London UK. Scott specialises in working with professional (and training professional) Musical Theatre and CCM performers.

His work has seen him take up positions at some of the top Conservatoires and Universities in the UK as well as running workshops, masterclasses and seminars at institutions across Europe and Asia. He has also appeared as a Vocal Coach with ITV Studios.

Scott also has experience on audition panels both at drama school/HE and professional level in various capacities including Vocal (Singing and Spoken) consulting and accompanying.

He is currently a Lecturer of Singing and Musical Theatre at both Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Scott is also the Senior Musical Theatre Consultant at Associated Studios London and Head of Singing and Music at West End Musical Theatre in North London.

His private singing clients take all forms but are often seen on major productions all over the world.He is a passionate advocate for creating a more inclusive and diverse industry, believing that not only is it the correct moral standpoint but also the path we need to take to tell the truest stories and explore art in its fullest sense.

About Nina Zendejas:

Nina Zendejas is an International voice coach specialising in accent and dialect, and native to the United States. Currently working as the Head of Voice at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts (MT) in London, voice-over artist (represented by WIsebuddah), and freelance production coach. Nina has worked internationally between the USA and UK on numerous productions/film including Dancing with the Stars, Playboy of the Western World, How I Learned to Drive(Southwark Playhouse) Obama-ology(Finborough Theatre), London, Let’s get Visceral! (Viscera Theatre), Stone’s in His Pockets (Lyric Stage), and Invasion/Bocon (Apollinaire Theater).

As a voiceover artist, she has voiced for international companies such as Lego, Sky Sports, Dove, Baileys, and many more. Nina’s synthesis of voice pedagogy and performer training allows for an intimate understanding of an actor’s needs.
