Spotting the signs of trafficking - workshop
Event Information
Event description
Description
The training workshop consists of the following three parts:
- Watching the stage show, My Mind is Free, as an introduction to the reality of modern day slavery in the UK. The play is about the interlinked stories of four trafficked victims and their horrifying tales of abuse, exploitation and enslavement. (Please see the attached flyer for more details.)
- The production is then followed by a workshop run by both the Rah Rah Community Theatre Company and William Guild, who is the Training and Development Officer for the anti-trafficking charity, Hope For Justice. William is a recently retired Detective Superintendent with the Police in Scotland. The workshop will aim to educate those attending on spotting signs of trafficking, thus enabling them to evaluate situations better.
- Finally, all attendees will be given a booklet providing contact details of organisations to approach to seek professional advice should they think they may have come across any victim of human trafficking.
