About this event

  • Event lasts 1 day 7 hours

All attendees should ensure they have access to a SARA-V3 Manual throughout the training. To purchase one, please select this add-on prior to going to check-out.

The SARA-V3 is a set of Structured Professional Judgment guidelines for the comprehensive assessment and management of risk for intimate partner violence. One of the original SPJ tools, it has been used and researched around the world since 1994. The SARA also was the basis for development of the B-SAFER, which is a briefer tool designed especially for use in law enforcement and criminal justice settings. Version 3 incorporates the latest advances in case formulation, scenario planning, and risk management, including victim safety planning.

This two-day training event seeks to ensure that delegates feel confident in assessing clients using the SARA-V3 and understand how to develop comprehensive risk management plans. Delegates will be guided through administration of the tool using case studies.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This two-day workshop is designed for practitioners who work with those at risk of violence and who have an understanding of the use of Structured Professional Judgement tools such as the HCR-20. This is likely to include psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers working within forensic or criminal justice settings. The workshop is not suitable for academic students.

If you are unsure if this workshop is appropriate for you, please get in touch to discuss.
