This workshop will give you the opportunity to use some techniques utilised by street artists to create personalised artworks.
Hand drawn designs will be created on transparent film using black pens, paint and ink. We have a combination of air brushes and spray bottle devices. This method captures a great deal of detail from the sprayed design, and no computers are required.
Once the artwork has been drawn and sprayed onto film and dried, it can be transferred onto a screen, which works much like a stencil, then printed by hand using a squeegee. The advantage of working in this way, means that a spray painted design can be reproduced and printed as an edition. We will be working with two layers, which can be printed in any colour. Overlapping colours also creates a new colour, like with painting.
We will then print a small run of these two colour prints onto paper for you to take home.
