Spring into Action - Public Sector Procurement
Thu 27 April 2017, 09:00 – 10:30 BST
The second in our series of breakfast briefings taking place in different locations in the borough throughout 2017.
This short interactive workshop (please bring a laptop) will show you how to identify opportunities to tender, work out which ones are the most promising to pursue and give you some hints and tips on writing a winning tender document.
Tendering can be a major opportunity to win new business, particularly if you wish sell to public-sector organisations or compete for large contracts. Understanding the tender process and how to tender will help you submit winning proposals.
The workshop will cover: Where to find opportunities; An overview of tender portals; SME opportunities in procurement; Tender Do’s and Don’ts; Top Tips for writing a good tender.
More small businesses than ever are winning public sector contracts thanks to efforts by the Government to level the playing field for SME’s. The number of public sector contracts being awarded to small businesses continues to rise – so much so that the Government has had to set a new goal having beaten its previous 25% target. Now it wants 33% of all Government spending to go to small firms by 2020 – worth some £3 billion extra a year in potential income for small businesses.
This breakfast briefing will be delivered by Kevin Hayes of Meridian Venture.
This event is FREE for North Tyneside-based businesses. Any business based outside of the North Tyneside postcode area will be charged £5.
This session will be interactive – please bring a laptop (WIFI is available in the building)
