Event description

Description

Spring Melanin (18+) - The day event for Dark Skin WOC. Nurturing, healing conversation & relaxation. Taking place at the The Christian Street Community Hub specifically for cis, trans, non-binary dark skinned womxn of colour.

We are throwing a dream board party!

This is a very special Spring Melanin, the first of 2019 and is therefore a much more intimate affair. We have chosen this date for a specific reason...more will be explained on the day.

Come with an open heart & open mind. We will start with a self care session on breathe work followed by crafting your own vision boards. The breathe session involves movement, flow and mindfulness. Working on the extent of our humanity, on the extent of our artistry, on the depth of who we are as artists, beings, elevating and finding our purpose from within. The session is meant to release & rejuvenate in preparation for creativity with your vision boards.

We will also be in conversation with Women Like Me, (BAME collective made for women in tech and creativity), with design thinking at the end. Plus two Q&A's with influencers, discussing their journey thus far and how they acheived their dreams and goals.

In the building of her empire HotSince91 she has and will continue to overcome obstacles. We will get the privilege to hear this first hand.

4 - 5pm - Tobi Oredein - Founder of Black Ballad created in 2014. A platform created for black women to write on topics of importance to black women. Our mission is simple: to create a media platform that helps black women in Britain live their best life.

Spring Melanin is a platform curated to balance out the realities of the world in a holistic manner. It visualises the reality of the world we live in but do not get to see represented within the media.
