Please be aware that some parts of the event will take place away from the surfaced paths and on grass areas and uneven ground. If your leaders or members have any additional needs or access requirements, please let us know when making your booking and we will be in touch.

Where is the meeting point?

Please meet with your unit at Bishop Wilson C of E Primary School, Puddington La, Puddington Ln, Burton, Neston CH64 5SE.
From Bishop Wilson Primary School, you can walk to Burton Mere Nature Reserve in around 10 minutes. We will have volunteers to assist you with the route and event area on the day

Members should be dropped off and picked up at Bishop Wilson C of E Primary School, Burton, CH64 5SE. There is also parking available at the Primary School.

How do I get there? (Public Transport)

Accepted Answer

The nature reserve is not accessible by public transport.

Question 6

Do we need to bring lunch?

Accepted Answer

Everyone will need to bring a nut-free packed lunch and drink in a reusable water bottle. If adults would like to purchase a hot drink on the day, please bring a flask or travel mug as you may not be based near the café.

Consent forms, health and safety

Accepted Answer

You will need to adhere to Girlguiding policies and procedures for an event away from a unit meeting place. You will need issue the consent forms, set up a home contact, ensure ratios are correct and carry your own first aid kit. If you have questions, please email northwesthq@girlguidingnwe.org.uk.

Will leaders need to prepare in advance for leader-led activities?

Accepted Answer

You may be asked to lead ‘self-led’ activities during the event. Instructions for the event will be issued in advance and on the day, with little or no preparation needed before the event.
