Spring Wild Food Foraging course, Hereford
Sun 2 April 2017, 10:00 – 12:30 BST
This spring foray will aim to help you identify around 30+ species of edible wild plants and how to differentiate for poisonous species. We will discuss how to prepare and use them for food or medicine.
The course is being led by Matthew Normansell of Eden Wild Food and chef/forager Kerry Woodfield of Woodfield Wild. This means more expertise is available and more opportunity to ask 1-2-1 questions,
The walk will take approximately 2.5 hours, we will start by meeting in Hereford (location will be given upon booking, walkable from the centre). This will cover a mix of aquatic, semi aquatic and grassland species you are likely to find. There will be opportunities to taste things we find and you can collect samples to take home and experiment with. Spring is a time of year where new growth is poking through and tender stems, leaves shoots etc are in abundance.
The walk is easy going so children are welcomed on the course, dogs are permitted but are the responsibility of the owner and must be kept under control.
Any questions please ask.
