Spring Wild Food Foray, Chester.
Sat 25 March 2017, 13:00 – 16:00 GMT
This spring foray will aim to help you identify around 30+ species of edible wild plants and how to differentiate for poisonous species. We will discuss how to prepare and use them for food or medicine.
The walk will take approximately 3 hours, we will start by meeting at the bandstand at the groves. From there we will cross the bridge to the handbridge side, following the river up into the meadows. This will cover a mix of aquatic, semi aquatic and grassland species you are likely to find. There will be opportunities to taste things we find and you can collect samples to take home and experiment with. Spring is a time of year where new growth is poking through and tender stems, leaves shoots etc are in abundance.
The walk is easy going so children are welcomed on th course, dogs are permitted but are the responsibility of the owner and must be kept under control.
Any questions please ask.
