Event description
Springboard and Navigator - The globally successful, award-winning work and personal development programmes for women and men.

About this Event

Now is a greater time than ever for work and personal development.

Most organisations have either been through, are going through or are planning:

organisation change, redundancies, mergers, organisational growth/restructure, gender initiative, equality and inclusion strategies, resolving conflict, cultural change, work-life balance, improving wellbeing…

With gender inequality still unfortunately being an issue in 2019, organisations are setting objectives to build a more diverse talent pipeline, address the gender pay gap and increase diversity and inclusion.

Tell me more…

We facilitate two unique and successful programmes designed for employees at all ages and stages of their careers;

Springboard – Work and Personal Development for Women

Springboard is a unique, award winning programme that has been successfully running since 1989. This programme enables women to give more and get more out of their lives and careers, and builds confidence, assertiveness and a positive image. It provides the tools to inspire and empower women to change their lives.

The Springboard Programme should be mandatory for all women – it offers the opportunity to evaluate where you are in life and where you want to be, giving you the tools to get there whilst creating a lifelong support network. It’s the only training course I’ve been on where I’ve used the knowledge and skills everyday since.” - Sarah Bullock, Assistant Director, St Helens Council

Navigator – Work and Personal Development for Men

Navigator is the first UK training and development programme that encourages men to examine both their home and work life in order to identify practical and realistic steps to fulfil their potential. The Navigator programme supports men to understand the world they are now living in, and then challenges their expectations based on historical male roles. It includes setting goal strategies that work, benefiting from experienced and knowledgeable coaching and support, as well as encouraging attendees to take risks and manage change.

This course provides an ideal opportunity to share with others development strategies. It gave me the perfect support that enabled me to get promotion and created an environment to develop plans for future personal and professional development. I would thoroughly recommend it.” - Hugh Kilmister, City University

Why do organisations choose Springboard and Navigator for their employees?

  • The programmes enable attendees to think about themselves more positively and provides the employer with refreshed and re-motivated workers.
  • It is a visible demonstration of the employer’s commitment to the development of their employees.
  • Puts responsibility for employee’s development back into their own hands and contributes to the development of core competencies.
  • Develops resilience so employees are able to manage change in the workplace more positively.
  • Increases confidence and assertiveness – leading to more job satisfaction and greater achievements- a direct benefit when dealing with team members and customers.

Why do single gender programmes work?

Development training only works in a single gender environment if it provides a safe place in which women or men can raise issues, knowing they will not be inhibited, ridiculed or harassed (verbally or physically), where common themes and issues will be taken seriously and where they will be able to compare notes and gain encouragement and support.

Most people around the world work in mixed environments but in some countries men and women are segregated at work. Our aim is not to be separatist, but to use the years of experience, research and results.

How do we do it:

  • As with other minority groups (such as gender, age, religion, faith race, disability and sexuality) attendees get a huge boost in discovering they are ‘not the only one’.
  • The programme deals with sensitive issues, being single gendered, this makes it easier to talk about issues in a safe environment.
  • Mainstream programmes do not address specific issues for women only / men only – this does.
  • Gives your organisation an EO/Diversity boost to be doing something for staff, in tune with gender equality legislation.
  • Researched, designed and written by the Springboard Consultancy – Quality assurance, award-winning consultancy, reputable, recognises diversity in UK workplace.

By attending a taster you have the unique opportunity to experience the value that Springboard and Navigator have to offer, the global successes of the programmes, what results to expect and how they are achieved , how it benefits both the individual and the organisation and an interactive taster exercise to experience how the workshops are run.
