About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

This workshop will introduce CREST Awards. CREST is a nationally recognised scheme for student-led project work in STEM subjects. Working towards a CREST Award is a unique way to demonstrate the transferable skills you will have developed during different educational programmes, including the In2STEM programme, such as problem solving and time management, as well as your scientific knowledge of your chosen topic. A CREST Award will give you the chance to reflect on your work and add real-world context to your research, which is highly desired by universities and employers.

The work you complete as part of the In2STEM programme and other educational programmes can be used to gain a CREST Award and we will have a limited amount available for eligible students. Choose your own subject and methodology, while completing a hands-on investigation.

In2scienceUK is a charity that empowers young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve their potential and pursue degrees, apprenticeships and careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

By leveraging the passion and expertise of STEM professionals and researchers, In2scienceUK gives A-Level students an opportunity to gain insight into the STEM sector as well as the knowledge and confidence to progress to university. In addition to running an award-winning summer programme which transitioned to a virtual format in 2020 in response to Covid-19, they run events and workshops throughout the year to provide ongoing support to In2scienceUK students and alumni.
