ABOUT THIS CLASS SERIES
Looking to learn some basic SQL skills to filter, aggregate or produce reports from a database, or maybe you are using tools like Excel for data analysis but wish to move this to a database. SQL and databases can help remove the need for large unwieldy Excel spreadsheets, assist in gathering only the data from a database that you actually need and perform both basic and complex data manipulations with ease.
This class will introduce students to SQL queries for data gathering and data analysis. We will cover enough query syntax to get students started on querying a database and performing common data analysis that would be troublesome with Excel spreadsheets.
After the course, students will have the ability to move data from a spreadsheet to a SQL database, analyse it with SQL and export it back to a spreadsheet if desired. Students will be able to write basic SQL queries to filter, aggregate and summarise data. Also, students will gain enough of a SQL foundation to read and understand SQL documentation in-order to progress abilities beyond the basics by trying out more advanced query techniques.

PREREQS & PREPARATION
