About the Speaker

Richard Browning, Founder and Chief Test Pilot of Gravity Industries.

Gravity Industries designs, builds and flies Jet Suits, pioneering a new era of human flight. The company was founded in March 2017 to challenge the perceived boundaries in human aviation and to inspire others to dare to ask “What if?”. It now scales towards an International Race Series.

Prior to founding Gravity, Richard was a Royal Marines reservist for six years and an Oil Trader with BP for 16 years. He developed business in many countries including Azerbaijan, Mozambique, Russia and conducted trade relations with many more.

He discovered and implemented major new technologies in BP including turning a $30k groundbreaking trade flow analytics (ship tracking) platform still at the heart of the global commodity industry to this day. It won the BP Group innovation Award and generated in excess of $50m within 3 months. He has also been a key participant and investor in a number of successful start-up ventures externally and is a passionate STEM advocate.

Gravity has to date been experienced by over one billion people globally with Richard and his cohort of growing pilots completing nearly 100 flights around the world and speaking at dozens of events from TED Talks to XPrize.

About the Venue

About the Charity

We hope this event will not only raise your spirits, but also some much needed funds to support the incredible work carried out by the Pilgrim Bandits charity. 100% of raffle ticket profits will be donated to the Pilgrim Bandits to enable them to fulfil their mission to help and inspire injured personnel to live life to the full.

The Pilgrim Bandit's mantra ‘Always a Little Further’ is core to the charity’s attitude, whether working with injured men and women from the Military or Emergency Services directly or by utilising their experiences to inspire and encourage young people and children. Pilgrim Bandits don’t do sympathy, but offer the rewards of belonging to a team, encouragement, belief and the power of humour over pain.

Bandits’ primary aim is to help those in need directly, with no compromise. Soon, those who needed help become those that give it. By pushing injured men and women into physically and mentally demanding situations that they would not have dreamed possible; kayaking extraordinary distances, jumping from aircraft, running races, trekking across inhospitable terrain, self-confidence is restored and self-belief instilled – Always a Little Further. Pilgrim Bandits pushes those that have already endured so much to go beyond endurance – to embrace life again and in so doing inspire others.

You can read more about their latest challenges on their website, including the completion of the 1,000 mile, 13 day long cycle epic from John O’Groats to Lands’ End to raise support and awareness for those suffering with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
