Event description

Description

At Highgate we not only have high expectations for academic learning, but we also pride ourselves on developing well-rounded, happy, successful human beings for life. This is why ‘Eight Steps to Success’ are at the heart of everything we do. Daily, our curriculum design encourages children to focus on the following steps: Don’t give up, Try new things, Work Hard, Understand Others, Concentrate, Improve, Imagine and Push Yourself. Join us on Wednesday 27th June 2018 to find out more about how this works in practice across the curriculum, seeing in action:

  • Real life, creative learning experiences
  • Preparation for future careers, aspirations and technologies
  • The development of thinking skills through ‘Philosophy for Children’
  • Exploration of high quality books that explore important themes
  • Collaborative learning structures built into lessons
  • A through-school approach, with problem-solving skills developed from Nursery
  • The culmination of this whole-school learning in the ‘Highgate Difference Awards’: a challenge for all Year 6s proving how they have developed the school’s ‘Eight Steps to Success’
