Our First Steps – Shared Learning Event 2017

SSBC are delighted to invite you and members of your team to our shared learning event.
The event will bring together colleagues, families and partners from across the SSBC partnership and will provide opportunities to:
- Hear from key note speakers
- Network and learn together
- Take part in a variety of interactive workshops

System Change: Literacy Hubs & Breaking Cycles of Intergenerational Low Literacy - morning only
Explore what makes parent powered change and what this can mean for services across the SSBC partnership. This workshop will be interactive using the SSBC engagement ladder and consider how we move towards true co-production together.
Partnership & the Brain Game
Experience The Brain Architecture Game to understand the science of early brain development – what promotes it, derails it and the consequences for later life and society. We will explore how the SSBC community – families and workforce – can come together to work in partnership for building solid foundations for our children.
Nutrition & Early Years
Dr Helen Crawley, First Steps Nutrition Trust, will explore the importance of eating well from pre-conception through a child’s early years and look at how the SSBC community – families and workforce – can access independent, expert and practical resources to support their work.
Creative Adventures Working Together
Experimenting with how we can find and use our natural abilities to become creative.
