Event description

During the 50th anniversary of Coventry Business School, we are delighted to welcome Nicola Hothi as our next Business Leaders speaker.

Nicola is a passionate leader of change. She has been selected to work for high-profile clients across the world over the past two decades, including the United Nations, the Cabinet Office, the NHS, the Treasury, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Defence.

Nicola’s passion is bringing change to life through innovation and creativity, whether at a corporate, national or international level. She has a particular talent for delivering change as it relates to people, and the ability to bring people along the journey of transformation. Most recently, Nicola brought this concept to life in an important way when working with the NHS, translating policy and standards into specific measures to help real people achieve better standards of care in her role as a Non-Executive Board Director.

Nicola studied Literature and Philosophy at Staffordshire University, and then completed an MA in International Studies at The University of Birmingham, followed by PhD in Political Science, again, at the University of Birmingham.

She is the founder of My Academy UK, an accredited and professional member of the Association of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and an accredited member of the Institute of Consulting and the Chartered Management Institute. She is a Personal Coach to CxO-level Executives, and a widely-published author in the field of British and international politics, globalisation and change. Nicola is also a serving Non- Executive Board Director.

The title of Nicola's talk will be:

What are you going to do? The power of passion and perseverance

In this talk, Nicola would be delighted to share a summary of her career path to date. Her aim is to set out some practical take-aways that graduates can easily apply in their job search and career planning activities. Through sharing evidence based examples of what tends to work and what doesn’t in job applications and the interview process, Nicola will provide some key tools and techniques for successful communication (written and verbal) and for influencing key stakeholders and decision makers.
