SSN Lunch and Learn sessions with Scottish Water
Thursday 25th August: Scottish Water’s work on Net Zero and Land Emissions
This SSN Lunch and Learn session will present Scottish Water’s cutting edge work on land use emissions, and will outline how the organisation is being proactive in managing its land assets to meet net zero targets. Land use will be a critical aspect of Scotland’s journey to Net Zero, and this seminar will explore how public sector bodies can act to use land to sequester carbon and deliver a range of other sustainable development outcomes. The seminar will demonstrate how Scottish Water is taking account of land use emissions in its net zero account, and how it is working across its asset base to reduce emissions and maximise sequestration. The session will draw on innovative research commissions by Scottish Water and led by the James Hutton Institute, and will explore how this work could be used by other public sector bodies to accelerate action towards net zero.
More information
SSN is launching a new series of member events. These ‘lunch and learn’ events will be informal opportunities for SSN members to meet online to learn from each other. SSN is interested in supporting knowledge exchange amongst its members, and would be interested to support any SSN Member organisation to promote its work or to host a themed discussion session. Contact the SSN Secretariat to discuss your ideas further.
To kick off the Lunch and Learn series for 2022, SSN is working with Scottish Water to run an initial round of three seminars. The details of these events are outlined below.
All Lunch and Learn seminars will run from 12.15-13.30 online on MS Teams.
