SSPP Research Showcase 2017 - King’s College London
Wed, 26 Apr 2017, 16:00 – Thu, 27 Apr 2017, 18:30 BST
We welcome everyone to our first Social Sciences Research Event to celebrate the creation of our new Schools within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Public Policy (SSPP). Leading researchers from each of these Schools will showcase some of their findings and engage in contemporary debates within Britain and beyond.
The SSPP Research showcase will run over two days. Day 1 will look at ‘What counts in education?’ which the School of Education, Communication & Society (ECS) have organised. This talk will be looking at the relationship between what is currently measured in education and what is valuable.
Day 2 is devoted to the central theme of Order & Disorder with reflections from scholars of the Schools of Security Studies, Global Affairs and Politics & Economics on contemporary political and social challenges, including Brexit, Trump, China, the idea of self-governance, post-truth, development and migration.
There will be opportunities for informational discussions and networking at receptions on each of the days. Participants can join all or only some sessions via Eventbrite.
