This year, we are introducing reduced prices to ensure inclusivity, if you are able to top up your ticket price, you will be sponsoring one of the reduced tickets.

Tickets (if available) will be sold at the door on the day of the event, but if you wish to have lunch at the venue then please book in advance.

Please note that the symposium-only tickets will be sold at 15£ at the door.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a member of SSSUK to come to the symposium?

No. Everyone is welcome. The Annual General Meeting (during lunch) is also open to everyone, but only members may vote.

If I decide to join the Society on the day or via sssuk.org how much is the annual subscription?

Payment by Paypal and standing order: £18 (UK); €28 / £25 (Europe); US$30 / £25 (elsewhere). Cheque or cash: £20; €31 / £28; US$34 / £28. Students (with ID): £12; €18 / £16; US$20 / £16. Institutions: £28; €35 / £32; US$40 / £32. Price variance by region is due to the journal's postage costs.

Can I just turn up on the day and buy a ticket?

Yes, but we would prefer you registered in advance as this helps us plan the lunch numbers. We cannot guarantee a seat or lunch for those who register on the day.

Will the event be recorded?

We have usually filmed the panellists, (but not the audience), unless the Chatham House Rule is in operation. Recordings of past symposia may be found on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@sssuk2454.

Will the speakers make their contributions in English or in Arabic?

In English.
