We are undertaking an open canoe camping trip initially beginning at the Tonbridge Slipway (Tonbridge) https://what3words.com/much.rubble.stole at 10am on Saturday 14th October. For SatNav users use the postcode TN9 1HR. We will paddle down the Medway arriving at Yalding Weir at approximately 4.30pm. We will camp overnight at Marlin Campsite, before departing on Sunday 15th October at 09.00 and finishing at Allington Lock, ME16 0LU https://what3words.com/popular.dolly.inclines at around 2pm.

The initial cost of the trip will be £17. This will cover the logistical costs associated with a linear river trip.
There will be additional optional costs dependent on the participant’s equipment requirements. Training
There is no formal training available on this trip.
It will be a self-catered trip.

We advise where possible that participants group together to cater to share both cooking equipment and food costs.

If you are applying as an individual we can facilitate by putting you in touch with other like-minded people to form groups.

If you are unable to source lightweight cooking equipment, please contact your Scout Group who should be able to assist.

Where possible we would like participants to be dropped off at Tonbridge Slipway on Saturday morning and collected from Allington Lock on Sunday afternoon.

Where participants have driven themselves (and others) we will run a shuttle on Saturday to move vehicle from Tonbridge down to Allington Lock. There is limited parking at Tonbridge and Allington Lock so we would ask participants to car share wherever possible.

Should you need to hire any equipment, this must be arranged in advance.
