St Albans Orange the World Campaign Launch
Overview
Between Tuesday 25 November and Wednesday 10 December, Soroptimists join the United Nations “Orange The World” campaign – “16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women”. As a bright and optimistic colour, orange represents a future free from violence against women and girls. Our first event will be at St Albans Civic Centre, Council Chamber on Tuesday 25 Nov 3pm – 5pm with conversations, refreshments, networking plus photos. There will be a photoshoot afterwards in front of the Museum and Gallery which will be lit up with orange lighting. The agenda will be confirmed to everyone who has booked ahead of the day.
Preceding the meeting, there will be an Awareness raising walk though St Albans town centre 1.15pm – 2.45pm. The walk, supporting the 16 Days of Action, will also raise awareness of the Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline and their support resources. It will start and end at the Civic Centre. The full route and duration will be confirmed to everyone who has booked ahead of the day.
When booking you can reserve your place at the event in the Council Chamber and/or for the walk. We would love people to do both of course!
All are really welcome to this very powerful event but booking is essential as St Albans Council need to account for everyone in the building. This is the link:
