The Great War changed lives forever. Men enlisted to fight for King and Country, many never returned. The Abbey Parish of St Albans remember their dead, not in a church, but in the streets where they grew up. The Parish was not unique in its experience but the street war memorials are. There are ten of these memorials, which are situated in the streets around St Albans Abbey where those men lived. This walk explores the history behind their existence and the lives of those whose names appear on them.
