Event description

Description

As part of our St Andrews Day Celebrations and in preparation for the evening's parade we will be holding several lantern making workshops throughout the day. During these fun 2-hour workshop's you will make and decorate your very own willow and tissue paper lantern. You will then be able to join in the magically lit (battery powered!) lantern parade with your own creation.

This enchanting parade will take you from the world's largest outdoor ceilidh at Westport down to the Harbour where you will enjoy a St Andrew's themed theatrical fire show telling the fable of how Regulus (later known as Rule) came to become shipwrecked off the North East coast of Fife with the bones of Saint Andrew, and coming ashore in what would later become known as the town of St Andrews that we all know and love. This will be followed by a magnificent fireworks display to end the celebrations.

All ages welcome to the Family Workshops, however, under 12's must be accompanied by an adult. Aged 12 and above only to the final workshop (13:30 - 15:00). Please wear old clothes and shoes as the glue can be a little messy.

One ticket equals one lantern to be made! Grab the Early Birds while they last!
