St Eds' Runs - the Unique Bars Running Festival will offer a 10k, half marathon, full marathon and family fun run routes from Skyliner Sports Centre in the jewell of the crown of Suffolk, Bury St Edmunds!

We will be applying for a UK Athletics license for all our races, and as such our races will adhere to UKA rules and regulations. Courses will be officially measured. All races will be chip timed for fast and accurate results. You will receive a full race briefing ahead of the race - this will include your number. There is a £3 discount on the final race price for all UK Athletics member when supplying their membership number upon entering.

The festival will be raising money for Bury Town Pastors and West Suffolk Hospital's My WiSH charity.

Start

You will assemble at Skyliner Sports Centre ahead of a mass race start, crossing the chip timing mats to start your race. There will be water stations approximately every 5km/3 miles in addition to water and food at the finish. Our routes will be marshalled as thoroughly as we can manage. While we will endeavour to ensure you have a fast and uninterrupted run, the courses will be taking place on quiet public roads that will be open to traffic. There will be toilets, lockers and changing facilities available at the leisure centre. (Please note - the below routes are to be confirmed and subject to official measurement)

The Abbeycroft Leisure Marathon - 9am start

The route will send runners north and then west on Mount Road, before heading south on a footpath through Moreton Hall and passing beneath the A14. At the end of the footpath will be your first (and fifth) water station where you will turn right, and then take a right to head away from the the village of Rushbrooke. Note there will be a diverge point here where the half marathon runners will turn left. After heading down this road you will turn left onto a footpath, which will bring you out in Rushbrooke. You will take a right in the village to head south and then a left to go east into Bradfield St George, where you will pass your second (and sixth) water station. After a right turn a couple of lefts will take you north and then west into Rougham and your third (and seventh) water station. A couple more lefts will take you west into Blackthorpe. After reaching the village you will turn left, heading under the A14 as your travel north into Battlies Green. You take a left onto a footpath running beside the road and pass your fourth (and eighth) water station as your return west to Moreton Hall. You will cross the roundabout and return back down the footpath to complete your second lap. Upon returning the the roundabout for a second time, you will turn left to head back to the Skyiner Sports Centre to finish. You can see a map of the route by clicking here.

The Knights Lowe 10k - 9.30am start

The route will send runners north and then west on Mount Road, before heading south on a footpath through Moreton Hall and passing beneath the A14. At the end of the footpath will be your first water station where you will turn left, heading towards Blackthorpe. Before reaching the village you will turn left, heading under the A14 as your travel north into Battlies Green. You take a left onto a footpath running beside the road and pass your second water station as your return west to Moreton Hall. You cross the roundabout and head south again on the footpath, this time heading right on Skyliner Way to finish. You can see a map of the route by clicking here.

The Kent Blaxill half marathon - 11am start

The route will send runners north and then west on Mount Road, before heading south on a footpath through Moreton Hall and passing beneath the A14. At the end of the footpath will be your first water station where you will turn right, and then take a left into the village of Rushbrooke. Note there will be a diverge point here where the marathon runners will turn right. You will take a right in the village to head south and then a left to go east into Bradfield St George, where you will pass your second water station. After a right turn a couple of lefts will take you north and then west into Rougham and your third water station. A couple more lefts will take you west into Blackthorpe. After reaching the village you will turn left, heading under the A14 as your travel north into Battlies Green. You take a left onto a footpath running beside the road and pass your fourth water station as your return west to Moreton Hall. Fun run - 11.15am start

You will complete a short loop on the footpaths of Moreton Hall. All ages welcome - children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. You can see the full route by clicking here.

Finish

You will finish back at Skyliner Sports Centre where you will collect your medal, grab some food and water, and have your chip removed. You must return your chip after the race or pay a £10 penalty. Medical provision will also be available at the finish line. Your time will be available immediately.

Registration

You will collect your number and chip in person. This will be from 2pm tp 5pm on the Saturday 28 October and 7am to race start on Sunday 29 October . You must wear your number front facing and have it visible at all times during the race.
