Description

NHS Step into Health careers and project management seminar

Join fellow Service leavers, veterans, serving personnel and spousal community looking towards future careers outside the Armed Forces at this special event hosted by one of London’s biggest and busiest NHS Trusts.

St George’s - home to Channel 4’s ’24 Hours in A&E’ - is renowned as a Major Trauma Centre, teaching hospital, and for its many nationally-leading services and pioneering clinical successes.

Its team of 9,000+ staff includes the widest range of job roles alongside its clinicians. From porters to procurement to project management. Catering to customer services. Security to scheduling.

Our corporate and support services cover all the operational and facilities management, customer services and ‘head office’ functions you would expect from a £800 million frontline public service caring for thousands of people every day.

If you are leaving the services soon, or are ex-Services, and interested in moving into another highly-regarded national institution – the NHS – and finding out more about the range of roles available and what’s involved, please join us for this special half-day event. The seminar will include

  • Project management in the NHS - introductory CPD session on the principles and typical work programmes
  • Making the step - former Service personnel who work at St George’s share their experience
  • Securing a new role - advice and ideas on getting into the NHS, types of job available, tips on applying, opportunities at St George’s now
  • Powering the clinicians - around 40% of our 9,500 staff are neither doctors, nurses or other health professionals. Discover the wide-ranging skills and experience needed to make one of London’s biggest and busiest acute hospitals serve thousands of patients every day

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and for informal discussion, and free tea and coffee will be provided throughout the afternoon
