Event description

Description

The purpose of the Nursing Congress is to help nursing students to recognise and expand their knowledge in regards to nursing education, care and practice. It will be an opportunity to provide students with a platform to meet students from other universities across different fields of nursing and across all year groups where they are able to develop, learn and share nursing experiences and practices together. The ultimate goal is to encourage and stimulate students to increase their participation, engagement and attention with their nursing profession and to hopefully provide students with the opportunity for both personal and professional development.

As part of the congress, we are Campaigning for the Recognition and Identity of Nurses. We are searching for the official collective noun for Nurses because currently there isn't one. During a time of great pressure on the NHS, we would like to acknowledge all of the hard work done by nurses. In recognition of the significant and unique contribution nurses make to the NHS we would like to identify the term used to describe a group of nurses. We'll be announcing the most popular entry on 18th April 2018 at the St George's Hospital Student Nurse Congress. Please visit out blogsite for more information.

The Congress will consist of the following:

Key Note Speakers:
Professor Jane Cummings, Chief Nursing Officer for England and Executive Director at NHS England and
