The St Helens Cares resilient community priority has been broken down into 4 key areas of focus which will be showcased at this event:
1. Care Communities
• To provide a seamless journey through healthcare and social support services within St Helens Borough.
• To always have the person at the heart of the services, ensuring a flexible and adaptable approach to individual needs.
• To ensure positive experiences of healthcare and social support services.
• To provide the right care first time with positive outcomes for people.
2. Health Innovation Hub
• To cultivate a sustainable ‘home-grown’ health and social care workforce to meet the demands of the sector in St Helens
• To make St Helens town a known contributor of innovative approaches to finding solutions within the Health and Social Care sector
• To stimulate economic growth and increased prosperity through growing our healthcare business sector, including via community wealth building activity.
3. Technology Enabled Care
• Technology is helping the way we provide health and social care services. Some examples of this technology are, you can now have motion and temperature sensors in yours or family members' homes. These sensors can be used to help provide care for people who are vulnerable to keep them safe in their own homes and can help in a variety of ways, for example:
- To identify if a vulnerable person has been taken seriously ill or has fallen at home and needs assistance
- To ensure vulnerable people are eating, drinking and taking their medications regularly
- To identify if a vulnerable person has a suspected urinary tract infection (UTI) before it gets worse and needs hospital admittance
- To ensure a vulnerable person's house is at a safe temperature
4. Social Isolation and Loneliness
• We live in a challenging time where social isolation and loneliness is at record high. We need to understand as a community how we can remedy this challenge within St Helens Borough.
If you want to find out more about each of these areas of focus and how you or your organisation can get involved then please register for this event – we look forward to seeing you there!
