Event description
Explore Aristocratic London and find out the best way to see the Changing of the Guard!

About this event

The St. James’ area developed as a result of aristocrats wanting to be near St James’ Palace. Today it is full of exclusive clubs, welcoming private art galleries and interesting, historic shops which provide goods to the Royal Family. There are atmospheric alleys and hidden passages along the way. See where the Wellington Boot was invented, where Churchill bought his cigars and the oldest independent family perfumers in the world who have provided fragrances for the famous and the Royal Family. You will also find out the best ways to see the Changing of the Guard. Please note: We won't see the Changing of the Guard on the tour as there is a lot of standing around waiting, but you will know how best to come back and do it if you are interested!

Meet outside Green Park Tube southside, exit up the slope at 10:50 for an 11:00 prompt start. Refund requests will be granted if/when your spot is fulfilled by someone on our waiting list.

Our guide is Gavin Webb, a London Blue Badge Tour Guide (the highest guiding qualification in the UK). Gavin has been running these popular tours for us for many years. He was named Luxury Travel Guide’s "London Tour Guide of the Year" in 2018 and 2019 and has just received a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award 2021 placing him in the top 10% of attractions worldwide!
