Event description

Description

Have a fantastic night under the stars on our magical route packed full of entertainment while remembering loved ones and raising funds for St John’s Hospice.

  • Registration opens: 6.30pm
  • Walk starts: 8.00pm

This is a night not to be missed!

What happens on the night?

Starting early evening, arrive in time to check-in and enjoy our entertainment area, where you’ll find music, stalls and refreshments available.

After warming up, you’ll have the choice to follow a safe 5K or 10K marshalled route around the surrounding village of Moggerhanger and passing through the hospice grounds, including a trip down Starlight Avenue: a quiet area of reflection. Here, you’ll be able to display a star dedicated to your loved one.

Crossing the finishing line, you’ll be rewarded with a well-deserved medal, the opportunity to treat yourself to a hot drink and a snack, plus the knowledge that you’ve done something amazing for local people living with a life-changing diagnosis.

Raise £135 and pay for a Sue Ryder Nurse for the day

Every penny raised through sponsorship will help us to continue to provide hospice care to our patients and their families, both here at St John’s and out in the local Bedford community.

Encourage your friends and family to join you

Sign up individually or select 'Team' entry, name your team and then sign up/invite friends, family and colleagues to hike with you! You can have up to ten members per team so don't be shy.

Although we don’t stipulate a minimum amount of sponsorship to be raised, this is a charity event to raise funds for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice so we do encourage people to try to raise at least £135 to support us. This would help fund a nurse at the hospice for an entire day. We hope that everyone will raise as much as they can.
You’ll be able to set up an online fundraising page after you’ve completed the registration form. We can also help by providing paper sponsor forms, collection tins and any other fundraising items. If you would like any help with your fundraising, just get in touch with the St John’s fundraising team and they will be delighted to help.
