Free, lunchtime talk 13:00-14:00 Monday 8th December 2014
To mark the 50th anniversary of Dr Martin Luther King's address to 4000 people at St Paul's Cathedral, this talk by Simon Carter, Head of Collections, will recount the circumstances of the visit and explore how the Cathedral became involved with the civil rights movement; the campaign for nuclear disarmament and clandestine anti-apartheid activities.
The talk will be in the Cathedral's Wren Suite.
Entrance is via the crypt door on the north side of the Cathedral.
Seating is on a first come first served basis.
Please print out the ticket and bring it with you.
Wheelchair users are most welcome and should contact the organiser in advance.
A display of items from the Cathedral Collections will accompany the talk.
