Free lunchtime talk 13:00 20th November 2018

To mark the centenary year of The Armistice, join Sarah Radford, Cathedral Archivist and Simon Carter, Head of Collections, to examine what the Library and Archives of St Paul’s reveal about the role of the Cathedral during World War One. The talk will consider the role of key individuals who set the tone for the Cathedral’s attitude and activities, how the building was protected, what life was like for those working and worshipping in the Cathedral during the war years and how the momentous events on the continent were reflected in special services of mourning and thanksgiving in the Nation’s Church.

Collections high-lights will include: a log book of the St Paul’s Watch ; historic photographs and personal correspondence.
