Employers across Staffordshire are being offered a unique opportunity to influence the future of skills development in the region.
Capula a leader in advanced system integration is one of Staffordshire’s leading employers, is hosting this round table meeting to enable employers to share their insights into current and emerging skills needs in Engineering and Manufacturing.
These discussions will play a vital role in shaping future skills provision and ensuring that local and national policies reflect the real needs of businesses. The initiative forms part of the Staffordshire Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), commissioned by the Department for Education and led by Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce since September 2022. The initial LSIP report, published in August 2023, outlined key priorities to foster stronger collaboration between employers and training providers.
The Chamber’s LSIP team is now conducting its annual review of this sector with cross-cutting themes of digital transformation, green skills, and the shift towards low-carbon, clean growth.
Meeting discussions will cover the latest LSIP findings, a roadmap for the next 12 months, and the challenges and opportunities of upskilling employees. Attendees will be encouraged to share their views on the support needed from stakeholders and the changes they’d like to see.
