Netwalking at Burghley – Fresh air, good conversation & B2B peer support

Need a breather from your desk and a chance to connect with others who get what it’s like to run a business?

Netwalking at Burghley is a relaxed walk-and-talk for founders, freelancers, and small business owners. We meet at 08:30 sharp at the Bottle Lodges Gatehouse on the last Friday of every month for a gentle, one-hour loop through the beautiful Burghley estate.

After the walk, you're very welcome to stay for a coffee at The William Cecil – your drink is included in your ticket. It’s relaxed, informal, and optional – come if you'd like to continue the conversation.

Here’s what to expect:

  • 🗓 Last Friday of every month
  • 📍 Meeting point: Bottle Lodges Gatehouse, Burghley
  • 🕣 Walk: 08:30–09:30
  • ☕️ Optional coffee chat: 09:30–10:00 at The William Cecil
  • 💷 Ticket: £10 (includes your hot drink)
  • 👟 Dress: Comfy walking shoes and weather-appropriate layers

Whether you’re facing a big decision, seeking fresh ideas, or simply craving fresh air and easy connection – you’ll be warmly welcomed.

Let’s walk, talk, and share what it’s really like to run a business – with a bit of countryside thrown in.

Spaces are limited, so book early if you'd like to join us.

Frequently asked questions

What is Netwalking, exactly?

It’s networking – but less awkward and with more fresh air. We walk, we talk, and we make space for honest, interesting conversations with other business owners. There’s no sales patter or name badges – just a friendly group of people who understand what it’s like to run a business.

Where can I park?

You can park for free at The William Cecil, as we’ll be heading there for coffee after the walk. From there, it’s a short walk (about 5–6 mins) to the Bottle Lodges Gatehouse, where we’ll begin. We’ll end up back at The William Cecil for coffee around 09:30.

Who is this for?

Founders, freelancers, small business owners and team leaders – anyone running or shaping a business who wants to connect with others in a relaxed, low-pressure way.

Do I need to be super-fit?

Not at all. We’ll take a gentle pace on a flat loop around Burghley Park. Think: “chatty stroll” not “Sunday hike”. Probably best to wear shoes you don't mind walking a couple of miles in though.

Is the coffee compulsory?

Nope – totally up to you. It’s included in the ticket price, so you’re very welcome to join us afterwards, but there’s no pressure if you need to dash off.

What if the weather's bad?

Unless it’s torrential (at which point we'll hide in the William Cecil!), we’ll still go ahead. Bring a raincoat/umbrella if needed – we’re a hardy bunch!

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs and their well behaved owners are very welcome!
