Description

2019 LET'S GO!!

Welcome back family! Stand for Humanity will be opening 2019 in the way that ALL new year’s should be!

It will be a night full of creativity, celebration and community, raising funds for refugees in Calais and pledging individual ways for each of us to support humanity too.

There will be some incredible featured artists as well as open mic slots for all types of expression from music, poetry, dancing, sharing a thought you had on the tube, a story from your ancestors or even reading out an inspiring blog post that you’ve come across! Proceeds from the event will go to an incredible grassroots organisation called Mobile Refugee Support who are on the ground in Calais, supporting refugees day and night just 30 minutes away from the UK.

We become freer, more empowered and less fearful when we express and create, and it's this energy that is monumental if we have any hope at tipping the future of humanity into a more balanced state - behind every revolution is art. 2018 has been intense, challenging and transformative (those words are not spoken lightly); this event will be used to take these lessons into the new year with deep intention for ourselves, our world and our fellow humans.

At the end of the evening, we then each make a pledge for humanity, to harness the energy that we create on the night and put it back out into the world, so that it continues long after the event is over. These little ways that we come home to each other, help us to remember the power that lies within us as individuals to make positive change. That’s what this movement is all about!

We are also collaborating with For The Sake of Humanity who sell jumpers and t-shirts emblazoned with the slogan “Humanity over Everything” and proceeds will go to Refugee Community Kitchen (RCK) another incredible grassroots organisation in Calais, who feed 1200 displaced people a day. Stand for Humanity volunteers have worked with both organisations out on the ground - if you want to get involved in volunteering you can find out more on the night!

Come along and fill up your soul. You will be starting the year with wholesome energy, immersed in creativity and community, coming together for humanity.

NB - feel free to bring your own food & drinks as well as kids, dogs, grandparents - everyone is welcome!
