Stand up for Siblings in Kinship Care - KCW
Event Information
About this event
This Webinar is aimed at practitioners who undertake assessments and support Kinship carers and the children they care for.
With a focus on assessing and supporting older siblings caring for younger siblings in Kinship care, considering the importance of the sibling relationship throughout life, and to explore ways in which processes and procedures ensure that children’s rights to stay connected to family are being promoted and protected in kinship care.
We are delighted to welcome guest speakers Christine Jones and Kate Richardson from Stand Up For Siblings who will give presentations on the importance of the sibling relationship and promoting sibling rights. Anne Begbie from Lifelong links will give practitioners insight into the importance of family meetings and allowing the family to decide the care and safety plan for the child. You will learn of how far the search can go to find suitable kinship carers and lifelong links and the processes for this when it has been decided that a child can no longer stay with birth parents.
